With this contents page there is something that attracts my attention almost straight away and very easily too. Whether it is the colours used or the way in which it is structured I'm not sure, but the font style also interests me. The background as you can see is dark but the pictures are quite bright whilst the writing is the complete opposite to the black being white.
The layout is not as structured as in some magazine and that is proably the reason for it's appeal more so than anything else as the word contents is sloping upwards slightly, which the short description of the pages also continues. The words 'features' and 'regulars' though are placed horizonally rather than verically and gives it a bit of diversity.
Another thing about this page is that there is an arrow to the pictures to show what pages go to which pictures so it makes it easier for the reader rather than having to try and figure out what the picture is actually to do with. Where the images are placed are also quite good as instead of them all being in a row they are at the very top, the left and then one at the right so fills the page but is not overcrowded and boring.
