On the left is an image of a double page spread from a music magazine and straight away from only a short glimpse you can tell the article will not be on a genre like 'pop'. The background is quite dark and the images have been taken in dark places.

The title can be easily seen from the rest of the article because of the colour of the font, the font style and the size of the font. The font style is quite apt for the music that is featured in it as it is in block capitals and the colours are a sort of blotchy kind which gives it a darker genre kind of feel.

The layout is quite good as it is not all writing so will not bore the reader as soon as they look at it whilst the images are quite spaced out and big. Sometimes all the images are on one page and the writing on the other which can sometimes put readers off so this magazine has been thought out quite well.

On the second image there is a border around it so it separates it a little bit more from the background and the text which is also a good idea, however in my personal opinion I think that if the first image had a border or the same border round it may look a little bit more professional. The pattern in the background though is a nice idea as it is quiet eye catching but not over powering so could attract the eye of potential buyers if they are flicking through the magazine before buying it to see if there are any good articles.

One last thing is the writing on the double page spread: it is a little small. A good point though is the fact that it is a complete different colour from the background so is easier to read it that respect. The font style also seems quite suitable and easy to read the only improvement for me would try to make it a little bigger.
