As you can see above there are four images, two front covers and two contents pages. For the last couple of weeks I have been exploring different ways in which to present my preliminary ideas, I have already looked at some magazine covers, contents pages and double page spreads, as you can see below, so I tried to incorporate some ideas from them into these ideas. Both lots of ideas above are very similar to each other however the first design for the front page and contents page I liked the idea of one colour in two corners but it looked as though the image had then just been placed there and the model hadn't actually been there. For the second design, however, I tried to create the impression that the background used was the actual background when the picture was taken though in future I would try and take the image in a lighter place as the background is too dark for a front cover. Moreover instead
of carrying that colour background through to the contents page like with the first design I decided to use a similar colour but not to fill a lot of the background.
The layout for the front covers are pretty simple and easy to the eye, all the colours link as they are all blue, and the image is a close-up to mid-shot so there is not to many things on the font cover to ditract you too much whereas with the contents pages, again it is quite simplistic whilst the colours follow through. The pages are quite easy to find as there is a snapshot of the front cover so the main stories on the front have the page numbers near enough next to them, this is useful because if a customer were to find an article they liked from the front cover and they neededto find it quickly then it is an easier and faster way.
One of the very first things on the contents page is the introduction to the magazine whilst the list of different pages that were and were not on the front cover are shown in bold with a smal explanation as to what they are about this then gives the reader a choice as to whether they want to find something specific like the competitions that are always in each months issue or whether they just want to go through the pages one at a time without knowing what stories are next.
