On the left is my final contents page where the majority of my mock-up ideas are somewhat incorporated in it. I discarded the idea of the title down the left hand side of the page as with the look of it now it would have been completely over crowded and even though many people do not read what the editor actually comments on, I believed it would make my project seem more authentic along with the fictional email address. It is also rather obvious that this page is a contents page and there is also an image of myself as the 'editor' as it seems more friendly with an photo of the editor than none. The information that is given in the note is short, simple and to the point so is mainly there for a formality, making this a rather conventional contents page.
I believe it is easy to read even with the same colour on the images and the layout attracts your attraction more towards the actual contents than the editor's note. Additionally, the layout isn't just plain and boring, always aligned straight, it has been rotated so catches and keeps the attention on the page more so. There is also no colour background, which I think is a good thing as there are a lot of colours on the page anyway, however others may disagree. The 'Walkway' font downloaded is also used on this page as the preview of the articles on the front cover and the interview on the double page spread so it follows through.
However I did receive some feedback on this and so may, at a later stage decide to make some improvements, thought it won't majorly change. Out of 15 people, 9 of them said they really liked the colours used and the layout of the contents page, though the other 6 said they liked it but there was 'something missing', some decided it was the bright colours against the plain white background that was the problem, whilst a few thought it was the 'editor's text box being so plain or the fact that the corner of the blue box was under the editor's. Whatever it is, there is something definitely missing.
